Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterized by excessive sweating that occurs regardless of heat, stress, or physical activity. Individuals with hyperhidrosis may sweat so profusely that clothing becomes soaked, interfering with daily activities and confidence.
Unlike normal sweating, which helps regulate body temperature, hyperhidrosis occurs when sweat glands become overactive. This means excessive sweating can happen even in cool environments or while at rest. The condition may affect specific areas such as the underarms, hands, feet, or face, or in some cases impact larger areas of the body.

How Is Hyperhidrosis Treated?
Neuromodulator injections, commonly known as Botox®, are an effective treatment option for managing hyperhidrosis. The treatment works by blocking the nerve signals responsible for activating sweat glands.
Under normal conditions, the nervous system signals sweat glands to produce sweat when body temperature rises. For individuals with hyperhidrosis, these signals are overactive. When neuromodulator injections are administered directly into the affected area, the overactive nerves are temporarily blocked, preventing sweat glands from producing excess perspiration.
Because the treatment targets only the injected area, sweating is reduced locally while the body continues to regulate temperature normally elsewhere.

I am, first and foremost, a people person. I believe that everyone deserves to feel beautiful, confident, and cared for — inside and out. As we all evolve and age with new skin concerns, I have focused my continued professional growth in the world of skin and medical aesthetics, working with only the most trusted, evidence-based modalities and technologies. Leading our medical aesthetics team at Cavana Ridge brings me so much pride, as we support both our patients and one another in achieving incredible outcomes.

My passion is empowering others by providing choice and knowledge. I bring this to my team by teaching nursing how to perfect the art and science of cosmetic injections. I bring this to patients by listening to their needs and wants, sharing cosmetic treatment options and designing a plan that respects choice with effective interventions.
